Therapeutic descriptions of individual oils:
Ylang Ylang
The fragrance is sweet, flowery, soft and erotic. A euphoric and aphrodisiac essential oil, Ylang Ylang is relaxing to the central nervous system – useful for depression, stabilising mood swings, insomnia, releasing nervous tension, stress related pain, fear, calming rage and anger, low self esteem, shock and panic.
Ylang Ylang is an antidepressant, relaxing to body, mind and spirit. It has a calming action on the heart and works to soothe palpitations, lowers high blood pressure and slows rapid heart beat.
The aphrodisiac powers of Ylang Ylang are well known. It helps one to relax and is indicated for impotence and frigidity.
Bergamot
Fresh, light and citrusy, Bergamot has a similar scent to orange or lemon but with slight floral overtones. Helps relieve anxiety, and is uplifting and refreshing. It has a sedative nature and is excellent for anxiety depression and nervous tension. A combined cooling and refreshing quality seems to dispel anger and frustration. Excellent insect repellent.
Lime
Sharp and bitter-sweet, Lime is activating and stimulating, especially where there is apathy. Refreshing and uplifting to a tired mind.
Sandalwood
Woody sweet and exotic, subtle and lingering. A very relaxing oil, that soothes nervous tension and anxiety. Well known to have aphrodisiac qualities. Centres and stabilises. Brings courage and releases irrational fears.
Lavender
Floral, light and clear with woody undertones. Fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous, slightly fruity. Very relaxing, and gently sedating, nurturing, calming and soothing. Strengthens the immune system. Purifies the air. Excellent healing properties for cuts.
